Cumberland city council

Waste in the right place

Cumberland Council was formed in May 2016. Located 25km west of the Sydney CBD, the council has an estimated resident population of 219,300, and consists of Greystanes Ward, Wentworthville Ward, Granville Ward, South Granville Ward and Regents Park Ward.

The council is working on delivering better services and infrastructure to encourage residents to rethink their waste. Handle Branding was engaged by Cumberland Council to work with them in completing a full redesign of all their waste resources and educational material.

Empowering positive change & responsibility.

Aimed at both the Council and the broader community, Handle was able to showcase and standardise a united and consistent message that engages the target audience. In short our core message is to put " ‘Waste in the right place’, organise a pick-up and to utilise some of the new services available.”

We rolled out an advertising campaign in print and digital formats to promote the new online booking service, re-designed all communications internally and externally and developed mascots for the purpose of educating kids about waste awareness.
